Women's Ministries
A brief history: In April 2011, nine women met for a prayer retreat to ask God for His guidance for a fresh start to women's ministries. After dedicating the first half of the retreat to time in John 15 and Philippians 2, we started to share ideas. Our hope is that this ministry will be owned by all women, with leadership acting as coordinators and facilitators. We'd love to see these opportunities grow as different women are led from time to time to start a new study, small/companion group or activity. The following "grid" is a result of this prayer and brainstorming.
Current coordinators are Stina Hoberecht, Janet George, and Heather Dillon, with alongside pastor Darlene Thulson (contact info below).
Large Group Quarterly Events
- Special speaker from within or outside our church family.
- Allow some time for small group discussion.
- Connecting time over food.
- Announce current and upcoming events.
Small Group Opportunities
- Short-term Bible studies, i.e. Sunday morning studies during Connecting Hour, or in homes.
- Ongoing small/companion groups focused on spiritual growth.
- Other groups, i.e. Book Group, that meet regularly to share a common interest.
One-time event examples
- Movie night -- either in a theater or at church
- Hikes, bike rides, etc.
- Service opportunities, i.e. Denver Rescue Mission, Joshua Station
Current Bible Study Opportunities:
- Sunday morning Bible study "Encounters with Christ" led by Janet George at 9am in A1 going through May 20.
- Thursday morning and evening study "W.O.W. - Women, Orphans and Widows" on forgiveness led by Rowene Van Matre at her home, 7377 S. Ogden Way from 9-10:30am and from 7-8:30pm. Call Rowene at 303-797-2337 for more information.

Current focus groups:
- "Book Group" meets the first Tuesday of each month. Call Lisa Grell at 303-791-3528 for location and book title.
- "Creative Corner" meets every Wednesday from 9:30-11:30am. Call Carolyn Read at 303-470-0206 for location.
- "Crafting Your Faith Journey" meets the second Friday of each month from 7-9pm in Room C1 at the church. Call Deb Anthony at 303-902-0907 for more information.
Next Quarterly Large Group: Spring Tea! April 21, 2:00 pm at Janet George's (7731 S. Eudora Ct., Centennial, CO).
Next Monthly Event: Friday, March 23: Movie night at the church sponsored by Jamie Durbin. Bring a dessert or hearty appetizer.
