What’s Love Got to Do With It?
Winter and Spring Sessions
Led by Todd Reisler
Tina Turner once popularized a song entitled What’s Love Got to Do With It? If the Apostle John were able to answer, he might say love has everything to do with it because it’s a quality that never goes out of style and never loses its impact. Love is a theme that weaves through the book of 1 John. Join us as we study this and other themes in the book of 1 John.
Revisiting Last Sunday’s Sermon
Winter and Spring Sessions
Led by Kyle Sutton, designed for deaf/hard-of-hearing people
This class will look at themes and discuss questions related to the prior Sunday’s sermon, and an interpreter will be provided. Although this class is especially designed for D/HH people, anyone is welcome to attend!
ENCOUNTERS WITH cHRIST
Winter and Spring Sessions
Led by Janet George
Women of all ages are welcome in this class! Together we’ll look into God’s word to learn about Jesus through his encounters with various people. Then we’ll discuss how we can apply what we’ve discovered to our personal relationship with Jesus.
These two classes will be offered for the spring session (March 19 – May 20):
Becoming Upside-downers: a study in I corinthians
Spring Session (beginning March 19)
Led by Bill Clark
Early Christians were called "those turning the world upside down" and such was true of the Corinthian church. But this church, like all churches, had problems. Paul's carefully written letter to that church and "to all those who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ" certainly includes us. The letter deals with sectarianism, relationships among members, sexual purity, gender roles, proper worship, and theology. Sounds like we can learn something.
SPIRITUAL RHYTHMS
Spring Session (beginning March 19)
Led by Joe Meyer
The psalmist writes, “O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you, my soul thirsts for you.” Do you too long to know God more deeply but often find that you are just too busy or distracted? Join us as we explore ways to weave spiritual practices into the rhythms of our daily lives – to experience the real changes that are the continual gift of God’s Spirit. There will be some informational time, as well as time for discussion and sharing. We will use Sacred Rhythms by Ruth Barton as a guide. The book will be available for $10.
