Hello Colorado!
Today was awesome! We hiked up Hoo Doo Creek and had lots of fun. A number of us hiked up to the caves at the top of the creek and once inside, we turned out all of the lights. It was really cool to see how one flashlight could light up the entire cavern after our eyes adjusted to the darkness; just like one person on fire for Christ can light up a dark world. God has been doing amazing things here and everyone is getting along amazingly well. I can’t wait to see what else God does this week!
Lots of love,

Hello Colorado Friends!!
Today (Tuesday) was an absolute BLAST! We hiked Hoo Doo Creek today and I saw the beauty of God’s creation, from every waterfall and rock to every mountain view and little flower. Everything was breath taking! Or maybe I am a little out of shape. Either way, I enjoyed it! It was awesome to see everyone together and to see my brother hiking with all of the people I love so much. It really is great to see everyone connecting like family up here. God answered my prayers and gave me the strength and endurance to hike today and for that I thank Him. Thank you all for the prayers and thoughts! They are truly appreciated. Tonight is girls night for all of the girls here! I am so excited! We each had to find a verse talking about inner beauty. My verse is 1 Peter 3:4. I can’t wait to hear everyone else’s!!! Please pray for all of us, so that all of these girls really feel and know how beautiful they are to us and to God.
I love and miss you even more than yesterday!

Whats the hiz happs Colorado friends?
Today I had a lot of fun hiking Hoo Doo Creek. I learned that when you are praying God is not just sitting right next to you but he is everywhere. I came to realize that today while sitting on a rock next to the stream praying to god thanking him for giving me this opportunity to become closer to him. As I was praying I could feel him all around me. Even in the other people praying around me. I could feel his presence in the wind, the water, the rocks and trees. God was surrounding me to show me that I was not alone. I know and hope that he does that more this week. Thank you everyone for you’re prayers and support and I hope you have a great day!
Love,

The group went up to hoo doo creek to have an adventurous hike. Along the way I saw many different ways God connected and helped us. Like for insistence I fell off a 6ft mini water fall and god helped me find a good landing spot (in the river) I only scraped my leg. Also, one of the staff members talked to us about a back pack that resembled all the bad stuff that was going on in our life. She told us to think of a way to take all the bad stuff out of our back pack. I am having a bundle of fun. This day was super de duper fun. Now me and Bark are going bouldering. Good bye

Hello Colorado!
2010 Canada has been an escapade. Our four days have included too much sugar, many hugs, positive students, and a beautiful God. We have already undergone a 27 hour bus ride, a day at an indoor water park, work projects, which included clearing brush, hauling metal, landscaping and cleaning up highways, and today’s (Tuesday) adventure was a crumbly hike up hoodoo creek. I say crumbly because instead of a trail most would expect we hiked up a rocky creek. 39 of the Centennial group and several Frontier lodge staff balanced, slipped, and hopped along the beautiful babbling brook; sorry for the obnoxious alliteration but it is the truth. All were in good spirits despite the over cast skies and ugly mustard yellow rain jackets on lend from the camp.
I have yet to hear any major complaints even after a 27 hour bus ride, a no-make up pact for the ladies, a day of rugged labor, and a cold hike. The students have been delightfully positive, and have shown crazy amounts of love for each other and God. I can see the excitement and anticipation in each of them and I can’t wait to see how this trip affects each of their lives eternally. The Lord is revealing his beauty, majesty, creativity and compassion to all of us here in the Magnificent Canadian Rockies.
As for me, I am so blessed by each of these students. I came in knowing Randy, Jon Haron and Ian Connor and now am friends with everyone on the trip. I have been accepted and loved by all the students from the time we loaded the bus. I have never been with a more accepting group of students. They have been welcoming to one another and have been open to making dozens of new friends. Mellissa commented that she feels like we are a big family this week and I agree.
I had an injury during work projects and everyone has been so supportive and compassionate. I hit my head on a log and had to get stitches. Apparently it is the first major injury in Randy’s 18 years of going to Canada. Everyone is eager to see my scar and bald spot J I was a little upset about the doctor shaving a chunk of my head, but hair grows.
One thing God is teaching me is that he made everything glorious and beautifully, especially us. He also made us mend able and resilient. The bump on my head no longer hurts and it has yet to hold me back from any activities. Praise God.
It is neat to see the gifts of all of us combine to form the body of Christ. There is a complimentarty mix of students, student leaders and staff. It has just been one big party. The staff at Frontier Lodge has been wonderful and helped make this a week long party. It is evident that the staff here lives their lives for Christ; they have been encouraging our team to as well. Your students are thriving and safe so you parents can sleep soundly J

Hello Again, WOW Canada has gotten so much better!! I never thought this week could exceed last year but it has!!! J yay! So today we hiked up Hoo Doo and I really wasn’t looking forward to it but it ended up going a lot faster than last year (in the way that it didn’t take so long to get up the hill) and I got to know a lot more people better! All in all it was an amazing day!! The sky was all misty cuz of the rain which just added to the beauty of everything. Just imagine how much fun God had creating the earth!

Tuesday June 15th,
2010 “What has today at Hoodoo showed you?” – Testimonies around the camp fire.
“Even though I was
feeling badly this morning and I couldn’t go on the hike, God showed me that I
need to stop and slow down.”
“On the hike I really
enjoyed talking with new people.”
“God watched over me
when I fell from a high spot, I had a soft landing and God protected me.”
“I just wanted to say
thank you for those who were there for me last night.”
“”The subject of
fellowship came up for several times for me today, one fo our roles is to stand
firm in our faith and to share it with others.”
“There have been so
many things that should not have happened, has happened. Everything has gone so
smoothly, the weather was supposed to be awful this week and it has been so
beautiful this week, this is an indication of God watching over us.”
“I really liked Mary’s
talk about the “backpack”, I am beginning to see the bad habits and stronghold
that I really need to be putting before god.”
“I really enjoyed the
solo time today on the way down from Hoodoo, at first nothing really seemed to
be happening, then for some odd reason I got so mad that god wasn’t talking to
me. The whole way home I was in such a bad mood, but the more i sat around, the
more people came up to me and were so encouraging.”
“I have really tried
to do things on my own this week, but god is showing me that his plan is way
better than mine”
“i really appreciated
how everyone helped me on the trail today.”
“Being out here we can
see how magnificent his creation, but by far his best creation is how he made
all of us and how we are able to come together with all of our unique traits.”
“I was thinking about
the blind side today and the quote in it…”with man, all of this is possible”
But when I look outside and see the mountains and the lakes I understand the
other quote better now that was under the first one…”with God, all things are
possible.”
